LONGi has received the highest AAA rating in PV Tech's Q3 2026 PV ModuleTech Bankability Ratings report, marking its 27th consecutive assessment at the top level. The quarterly ranking evaluates photovoltaic module manufacturers based on their manufacturing capabilities and financial health. It provides project developers, investors and other industry stakeholders with an independent benchmark for assessing supplier bankability.
PV Tech's assessment combines indicators of manufacturing strength, including production capacity, module shipments and technology development, with an analysis of financial performance. The AAA classification represents the highest category within the rating system. For commercial, industrial and utility-scale solar projects, where modules are expected to operate for several decades, the financial stability and manufacturing track record of suppliers are important considerations in procurement and investment decisions.
LONGi's continued AAA rating comes as the company expands the commercial deployment of its back contact technology and advances its research into higher-efficiency solar cells.
LONGi achieves 28.29% HIBC cell efficiency and advances intelligent manufacturing
In September 2026, LONGi announced a new conversion efficiency record of 28.29% for its Hybrid Interdigitated Back Contact (HIBC) solar cell. The result was independently verified by the Institute for Solar Energy Research Hamelin (ISFH) in Germany. The technology combines high- and low-temperature passivation approaches to improve solar cell performance. The result marks another step in LONGi's development of back contact technology, which forms the basis of its current high-efficiency module portfolio for residential, commercial and utility-scale applications.
Also in September, LONGi's manufacturing facility in Wuhu, China, achieved Level 4 certification under China's Intelligent Manufacturing Capability Maturity Model (CMMM). The certification relates to the maturity of intelligent manufacturing processes and systems at the facility.
LONGi supplies modules for major solar projects in Italy and Romania
During the third quarter of 2026, LONGi also announced progress on several large-scale photovoltaic projects in Europe.
In Italy, the company announced an agreement in August to supply Hi-MO 9 back contact modules for a 71 MW utility-scale solar project developed by Innovo Renewables S.p.A.
In Romania, two solar projects developed by Nofar Energy Group in Giurgiu County were connected to the grid in September. The installations have a combined capacity exceeding 315 MW and use LONGi photovoltaic modules.
These developments illustrate the continued deployment of LONGi technology in European utility-scale projects, where developers must consider module performance alongside the long-term capabilities and financial position of their suppliers.
The Q3 2026 AAA rating extends LONGi's record in PV Tech's quarterly assessment. The company continues to invest in back contact solar technology, manufacturing development and integrated solar-plus-storage solutions as it expands its activities in European and international markets.
