Hi-MO X10
Anti-Dust

Less dust accumulation. More energy yield.

Dust and other surface contamination can reduce solar generation throughout the lifetime of a PV system. Hi-MO X10 Guardian Anti-Dust combines HPBC 2.0 Back Contact technology with a patented frame design developed to reduce dust accumulation at the lower edge of the module and support higher long-term energy yield.

Why it matters

Dust has a measurable impact on solar generation

Dust, sand, pollen, pollution and other particles settle on the glass surface of PV modules and reduce the amount of sunlight reaching the solar cells. This effect, known as soiling, is one of the most important environmental factors affecting PV system yield.

The IEA PVPS estimates that soiling currently causes an average 4–7% loss in global PV energy production, with consequences for both electricity generation and operating costs.

The impact varies considerably between sites. Climate, rainfall, humidity, wind, module inclination, particle composition and the surrounding environment all influence how quickly modules become soiled and how easily deposits are removed.

The Guardian Anti-Dust technology

Hi-MO X10 Guardian Anti-Dust reduces persistent dust accumulation at the lower module edge, helping maintain power generation while reducing cleaning-related O&M.

Frame design

A patented frame design to reduce dust accumulation at the module edge

Hi-MO X10 Guardian Anti-Dust addresses a common point of persistent soiling: the lower edge of the module. Its patented frame design brings the short-side frame to the same height as the glass/lamination surface, allowing rainwater and loose particles to drain more easily from the module.

Energy yield

Reduced soiling losses. 2%+ power generation boost.

The flush short-side frame supports more effective runoff, allowing rainwater and loose particles to leave the module surface more easily. LONGi specifies a 2%+ power generation boost from the patented Anti-Dust frame design.

Field data

Up to 5.4% higher monthly power generation

In a CPVT-monitored field comparison, the Anti-Dust module achieved a maximum monthly power generation gain of 5.4% versus a conventional non-Anti-Dust reference module at a 10° installation angle.

Operations

Lower cleaning and O&M requirements

Reduced dust accumulation can decrease cleaning needs and the associated labour, equipment and water requirements over the operating life of the system.

Platform performance

Performance starts with Back Contact technology

Hi-MO X10 Guardian Anti-Dust combines its patented Anti-Dust frame with LONGi's HPBC 2.0 technology platform. The module brings together high-efficiency Back Contact cells, 0BB architecture, shading optimisation, TaiRay wafers and enhanced thermal performance to support energy yield and reliability across real operating conditions.

Shading optimisation

HPBC 2.0 uses a soft-breakdown design that allows current to bypass shaded areas through alternative paths. With one cell shaded, LONGi reports 70% lower power loss than TOPCon modules, while reducing localised temperature rise and hot-spot risk.

0BB cell architecture

The 0BB structure removes front gridlines and rear busbars. Shorter electrical transmission paths reduce resistance losses, with LONGi reporting approximately 5 W additional module power from the architecture.

TaiRay wafer technology

TaiRay wafers provide a stronger silicon substrate. The X10 uses wafers 10 μm thicker than the referenced conventional wafer, with LONGi reporting up to 16% higher rupture strength, supporting resistance to mechanical stress and microcracking.

Better high-temperature performance

A power temperature coefficient of −0.26%/°C, compared with −0.29%/°C for the TOPCon reference in LONGi's comparison, helps limit power loss as module temperature rises.

Applications

Made for environments where dust affects performance

Anti-Dust technology is particularly relevant for low-tilt C&I rooftops and sites exposed to higher levels of dust, sand, agricultural particles or airborne pollution, where dirt can accumulate at the lower module edge and rainfall alone may not remove it effectively.

01

Commercial and industrial rooftops

Low installation angles can limit natural removal of accumulated particles.

02

Agricultural environments

Soil, pollen and organic particles can contribute to module contamination.

03

Dry and dusty locations

Low rainfall and high airborne particle concentrations increase soiling exposure.

04

Industrial and infrastructure sites

Traffic, construction and industrial activity can increase local particulate levels.
