DHL Group and LONGi Solar sign MoU to advance global renewable energy and sustainable logistics solutions

• Strategic partnership combines solar-energy deployment with lower-emission logistics innovation

• Deployment of LONGi solar technologies across DHL facilities in Europe

• Expanded logistics support for LONGi's growing solar and battery energy storage businesses

DHL Group, the world’s leading logistics provider, and LONGi Solar, a global leader in high‑efficiency solar technologies, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation on renewable‑energy deployment and lower-emission logistics innovation. The agreement marks the beginning of a strategic collaboration focused on accelerating the adoption of distributed solar solutions, including LONGi’s latest Building‑Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) technology, across DHL facilities in Europe. The solutions are based on high-efficiency back contact technology designed to maximize energy yield on large commercial rooftops while ensuring long-term operational reliability. The partnership will also identify additional opportunities that support DHL Group’s corporate strategy to become the “green logistics of choice” and LONGi’s mission to “make the best of solar energy to build a green world”.

The MoU builds on DHL’s existing logistics partnership with LONGi. Today, DHL supports LONGi through Express, DHL Global Forwarding (DGF) Ocean Freight, and DGF Industrial Projects services, including factory‑moving solutions. Under the expanded partnership, DHL will broaden this support to match LONGi’s fast‑growing global operations and new business areas. This includes enhanced B2C logistics solutions, marketing‑related fulfillment services, and tailored logistics for LONGi’s new battery energy storage system (BESS) portfolio.

Under the MoU, DHL Group and LONGi plan to collaborate through:

• Deployment of LONGi BIPV and other advanced distributed solar technologies at DHL buildings and logistics infrastructure

• Co‑development of innovative solar‑plus‑storage solutions tailored for logistics applications

• Joint exploration of renewable hydrogen and next‑generation renewable‑energy concepts

• Early‑access and co‑creation initiatives to pilot and test LONGi innovations within DHL’s global network

• Expansion of DHL’s logistics support for LONGi to build scalable, end‑to‑end logistics pathways that enable global renewable‑energy adoption

• Close senior executive collaboration to evaluate progress and emerging opportunities

These initiatives complement DHL’s broader sustainability roadmap, which includes modernizing facilities, improving building efficiency, and expanding the use of renewable energy throughout the network. The MoU provides a structured platform to explore integrated solar-plus-storage solutions and advances DHL’s long-term decarbonization measures. The use of solar energy is also a key part of DHL Group’s focus on New Energy as a key growth sector. As part of “Strategy 2030: Accelerating Sustainable Growth”, DHL is developing end-to-end logistics solutions for eight segments: wind, solar, EV and batteries, battery and energy storage systems, EV charging, grid, alternative fuel and hydrogen.
