LONGi supports German women’s hockey champions and sustainable energy development at Düsseldorf Hockey Club

LONGi is expanding its involvement in German elite sport through a new partnership with Düsseldorf Hockey Club (DHC). The collaboration focuses on supporting the club's women's first team, which won both the German outdoor and indoor hockey championships in 2026, and the DHC Green Club sustainability initiative. Through this initiative, the club aims to make its energy supply and infrastructure more sustainable in the long term. LONGi's logo will also feature on the jerseys of the women's Bundesliga team.

Founded in 1905, Düsseldorf Hockey Club is one of Germany's most established and successful hockey clubs. It has approximately 1,700 members, including around 700 young hockey players. The women's first team has been among Germany's leading teams for many years, winning four national outdoor championships, five national indoor championships and three European indoor club titles, most recently in 2024. The team competes in Germany's top hockey league in the 2026/27 season and will also represent the country internationally in the Euro Hockey League.

Supporting women's elite hockey as part of LONGi's commitment to sport

LONGi’s partnership with the DHC women’s team reflects its support for one of Germany’s leading hockey teams and a club with a strong tradition of developing young talent. The collaboration also aims to raise the profile of women’s hockey, giving greater visibility to the players’ achievements and their role as sporting role models for the next generation of female hockey players.
The partnership complements LONGi's existing sports engagements, including its collaboration with FC Bayern München and sponsorship of the 2026 Berlin Marathon.

The pursuit of excellence connects elite sport and advanced technology. Both depend on innovation, consistent performance and the ambition to keep improving. These shared values underpin LONGi’s sports partnerships, which also provide an opportunity to introduce solar technology to a wider audience. Through its engagement in sport, LONGi aims to support the energy transition by helping clubs adopt more sustainable energy solutions and reduce their CO₂ emissions.

"The players of Düsseldorf Hockey Club have consistently performed at the highest level in Germany. Their achievements deserve recognition and greater visibility. We want to support the team in its continued sporting success while making a tangible contribution to the club's sustainable development. This combination is what makes the partnership particularly valuable to us," says Max Han, Head of Marketing at LONGi Solar DG (DACH).

DHC Green Club: LONGi supports sustainable energy development in sport

Alongside its support for the DHC women’s team, LONGi is also contributing to the club’s DHC Green Club sustainability initiative. As part of the project, the club is planning an integrated energy concept that combines solar PV, battery energy storage and charging infrastructure. The initiative aims to make the club's energy supply more sustainable in the long term. Further details about LONGi's contribution and the implementation of the project will be announced shortly.

For DHC, the initiative forms part of its long-term development strategy. The club continues to invest in competitive sport and youth development while also working to make its infrastructure more sustainable in the long term.

"LONGi is a real asset to our club! We are absolutely delighted to have one of the world's leading solar technology companies by our side. What is particularly exciting is that this partnership goes far beyond jersey sponsorship. Together, we want to make a real difference and prepare DHC for the future, step by step. Partnerships like this are exactly what help us achieve that," says Christopher Schlenker, Managing Director of Düsseldorf Hockey Club (DHC).
